What the Sound Meditation really is?

Let’s chat about the Sound Meditation today.

What this Sound Meditation really is?
A Sound Meditation is a deeply-immersive, full-body listening experience that intentionally uses sound to invite gentle yet powerful therapeutic and restorative processes to NURTURE YOUR MIND & BODY.

People claim that sound baths can trigger a phenomenon called “sound healing.” Sound healing has been a home remedy favored by many cultures for thousands of years.

These vibrations created by the sound crystal bowls lead you deeper into a state of contemplation or relaxation, shutting off your body’s fight-or-flight reflex.

Why is the sound meditation a truly healing experience?
A sound meditation allows your brain waves to slow down and then shift - from a very active state to a relaxed I like to say ‚dreamlike’ state.

The research says it has a particular effect on the brain because the music or sound healing has a particular vibration. The brain also works with vibrations that’s like how the cells in the brain are oscillating at the frequency. So if you play music in both ears it will have a direct effect on the brain oscillation vibration.

Practitioners say that the benefits of sound baths include:

  • Deepening relaxation

  • Lowering stress and anxiety

  • Improving mood and well-being

  • Improving sleep

  • Heightening focus and energy

  • A feeling of rejuvenation

Although these are common benefits, different people react to sound meditation in different ways. For example, one person might feel especially relaxed, while another might feel a boost of energy.

A small 2014 study found that people exposed to 15 minutes of either repetitive drumming or instrumental meditation music while lying down experienced a decrease in their levels of cortisol, a stress hormone.

What is it like to experience a Sound Meditation?

It’s truly the most common question before the events and classes I host.
For everyone, a sound healing session will feel very different. Try to not compare your experience to anybody else, or even your own from session to session.
You may feel relaxed, or you may feel emotional release through crying or laughing. Some people have beautiful visions, and leave inspired and empowered to take different life actions. It is a beautiful, magical journey.

Personally, I feel sound meditation is one of the best ways to disconnect and to take care of myself. It helps me realign with my body and mind, and to release any heaviness and blockages. It gives me a feeling of having a full heart again.

Have you ever experienced Sound Meditation?
If yes, how did you feel?
